Up-and-coming country music superstar Jason Aldean will perform Friday at the Crown Coliseum as part of his 2010 Wide Open Tour.

And, yes, he's bringing his big green tractor. Well, not literally. We think.

Aldean will, however, be playing the hits that have helped his star shine brightly in the country music skyline, including "Big Green Tractor" and "She's Country," a pair of back-to-back No. 1 hits, and "The Truth," among others.

Luke Bryan will open for Aldean, which is fitting since the two are practically best friends and are enjoying meteoric success at the same time.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29.75 and $34.75 through the Crown Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com or by calling 223-2900. Pages 18-19

Tyler Perry is known for a lot of things - being a playwright, director, producer, actor and author - but if you think of Perry, you immediately think of Mabel "Madea" Simmons.

It's been about five years since he's reprised the role of the grey-haired, gun-toting Madea on stage, but Perry will star as this notorious character in his latest theatrical production, "Madea's Big Happy Family," at the Crown Coliseum on Saturday.

There will be two showings of the play at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 to $55 through Ticketmaster.com. For more information, visit tylerperry.com. Pages 8-9

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Black History Month this weekend with a pair of performances of William Grant Still's first Symphony - known as "Afro-American Symphony" - and the suite from Stravinsky's "Firebird" Ballet.

The first performance will be Saturday at 8 p.m. at Seabrook Auditorium on the campus of Fayetteville State University.

The second performance will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst.

Tickets for the Seabrook performance are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors and military. For tickets and information, call 433-4690, or go to www.fayettevillesymphony.org.

Tickets for the Sandhills Community College show are free and are available at the door as supplies last.

Next Thursday, disco divas Sister Sledge will perform at the Crown Theatre at 8 p.m. The concert is a late addition to the 2009-10 Community Concerts Series, serving as a makeup performance for the cancelled Paul Anka show from Jan. 26.

Featuring four sisters from Philadelphia, Sister Sledge is best known for the disco music anthem "We Are Family."

Tickets are $18 to $32 and are available at Ticketmaster.com or at the Crown Center box office. Season ticketholders will receive tickets in the mail. Call 438-4100. Page 14
