Fayetteville Symphony will perform 'Classical Masterpieces.'

Fayetteville Symphony continues its 2009-10 season with some "Classical Masterpieces."
The symphony will present the music of Beethoven, Vivaldi and Haydn Saturday at 8 p.m. at Methodist University's Reeves Auditorium.
The featured works include Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 in B Flat Major, Opus 60; Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets and String Orchestra in C Major and Haydn's Symphony No. 88 in G Major.
"It's pleasant, charming music, basically," said symphony executive director Mark Savage. "It's easy to listen to and within everyone's comfort zone."
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and the military, and $8 for students with identification. Call 433-4690 or go to www.fayettevillesymphony.org.
Just beachy
With a hard winter about to come to an end, a night at the beach sounds mighty good.
The Sampson County Exposition Center is providing just that Saturday with The Band of Oz headlining a "Night at the Beach" program at 6:15 p.m. The event serves as a fundraiser for the center's youth program, Class Acts. Wine, hors d'oeuvres and a meal of hand-carved prime rib and roasted pork loin with apple bourbon glaze will be served.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by an auction and the beach music sounds of The Band of Oz at 8.

Bands together
Two area musical ensembles will join forces in a free concert Sunday at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst.
The Fayetteville Community Symphonic Band and the Moore County Concert Band will share the stage beginning at 2 p.m.
