Madonna part of 'Marriage Ref' panel

"THE MARRIAGE REF"

I suppose Madonna might be a good "expert" for the panel on "The Marriage Ref." She's been married twice and had numerous other well-publicized relationships. But still, is she funny? That's what this show seems to be about - making fun of couples to show off the panelists' comedic chops. Madonna is paired with Ricky Gervais and Larry David, so I question whether she can keep up with their barbs. We'll see. 10 p.m. NBC

"AMERICAN IDOL"

The Final 12 contestants are revealed, which means the beginning of theme weeks. Altogether now: yay? 8 p.m. Fox

ACC TOURNAMENT

Consider this the beginning of March Madness. Here is the schedule for the first round of games, which will be played live at the Greensboro Coliseum. Note that all gamesexceptthe UNC-Georgia-Tech game will air on CBS (WRAL). That game will be on ESPN2.

Noon: Virginia (9) vs. Boston College (8)

2 p.m.: Miami (12) vs. Wake Forest (5)

7 p.m.: North Carolina (10) vs. Georgia Tech (7)

9 p.m.: N.C. State (11) vs. Clemson (6)

News14 Carolina will broadcast its SportsNight program after the last game from the Greensboro Coliseum. The Time Warner Cable network also will televise post-game news conferences for North Carolina, Duke, N.C. State and Wake Forest.

TV TIDBITS

It's been a big week for renewals. "Fringe" was renewed by Fox for a third season.

Over on NBC, the network is keeping the Thursday night comedy block intact. NBC renewed the freshman series "Community" (8 p.m.), "The Office" (9 p.m.) and "30 Rock" (9:30). "Parks & Recreation" (8 p.m.) already has been renewed.

CBS renewed "Undercover Boss" for a new season.

And in case you missed it, Brooke Burke was named the new co-host of "Dancing With the Stars." Burke has hosted CBS's "Rock Star," so she knows a bit about reality show banter. She won the contest in 2008.
