going for the gold
You love movies. You really do. Almost 175 of you entered our annual Oscar contest where you predicted the winners. Some of you film buffs are really good at predicting, too. Our three winners got all 10 of the categories correct, and two of them have won our contest in previous years. The winners are Ann Lucius-Mitchell, Mark Parsons and Gena Stanley - all of Fayetteville.
Lucius-Mitchell made a point to watch all 10 nominated films. She would have picked "Precious" or "The Blindside" to win best picture. "I thought 'The Hurt Locker' was terrible," she said. "I'm the only person I know who hated it." Stanley also would have chosen a different film for best picture - "Avatar." "You can't really beat that," she said. "The effects, the 3-D, the way they made it. It's pretty amazing. Not that 'The Hurt Locker' wasn't good, but it's kind of hard comparing the two."
Our winners get a coupon book of movie passes. Thanks for entering!
