The Buzz: True love and a non-material girl
"True Blood" star Anna Paquin married her co-star Stephen Moyer while wearing a necklace made of 50 carats of round diamonds.
"She wanted something with a vintage-inspired, romantic vibe," celebrity jeweler Neil Lane told People magazine. He provided Paquin with the elegant necklace.
The 28-year-old Oscar-winning actress also wore a white halter-neck gown and a pair of diamond stud earrings. Guests at last weekend's California wedding included stars such as Elijah Wood and "True Blood" costar Carrie Preston with her husband, Michael Emerson of "Lost."
The reception was at a Malibu beach house, and the couple jumped into the ocean following the festivities, according to US magazine.
Pop icon Madonna says she doesn't want to be called a "Material Girl" any longer.
Madonna was given the nickname after her 1980s hit song of the same title. But she says she "hates" the "materialistic" undertone of the name, according to the Daily Dish celebrity gossip blog.
"Everyone relates that title to me because of the song I did, like, 300 years ago," the singer told the Daily Star, a British newspaper. "It's a title I got stuck with. When I first did the song it was meant in an ironic way, as I don't think of myself as a materialistic person. I hate that name, but I do love clothes and fashion and I love beautiful things."
Still, Madonna did just recently launch a new clothing line with her daughter, Lola, named - get this - Material Girl. So she can't hate the name that much. Radaronline.com says the singer is being sued for using that name for her fashion line. The California-based clothing manufacturer L.A. Triumph says it has been using that name for its clothes sold at Nordstorm.
