TV Diva: Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato ready for "Camp Rock 2"

"CAMP ROCK 2: THE FINAL JAM"

When the Disney Channel has success, it knows how to capitalize on it. For example, when "High School Musical" became a smash a few summers ago, the sequel was broadcast a bazillion times. That's the case with "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam," which stars teen dreams the Jonas Brothers and singer/actress Demi Lovato. "Camp Rock," which debuted in 2008, was cable's No. 1 rated entertainment telecast, with 10.1 million viewers. So it makes sense that the Disney Channel is about to bombard us with the sequel this weekend. The premiere, hosted by the cast, is Friday at 8 p.m. It also will be simulcast on cell phones. On Saturday, a "rock along" karaoke edition of the film will be at 8 p.m. and on DisneyChannel.com. Finally, on Sunday, watch the "Sunday Dance Jam" edition at 8 p.m., which will give you a look at the choreography that went into making the film. Personally, I think every movie should have a "Sunday Dance Jam" edition, don't you? As for the plot of the film, as if that matters to the fans of the Jonas Brothers and Miss Demi Lovato, Camp Rock is in danger of closing. A new flashy camp has opened across the lake - called Camp Star, of course - and campers and instructors are defecting from Camp Rock. Lovato's character rallies the Camp Rock campers to - what else? - a dance off! Naturally that will determine that even if you have a flashy camp, you still gotta have heart - and some sweet dance moves. Once your tween has seen every incarnation of the film this weekend, plunk down some money on Tuesday for the DVD set. Rock on!

STEPHEN KING MOVIE MARATHON

Onto matters completely opposite of the Jonas Brothers: Syfy is having a two-day Stephen King marathon. On Friday, it gets started with "The Langoliers" at 3 p.m., with movies running through the weekend.
